Why Prism?
I created Prism because after helping friends with tapes for years, doing my own, and having countless conversations I found most of us actors were chasing the same journey:
to find joy in auditioning.
Chances are, you’re an actor because you love it. You’re passionate about it. But we can get so wrapped up in “getting it right” and in our heads that it can be a challenge to do what you need to do in a tape: Act! Make no mistake, there is technique to it. This is a visual and technical medium and needs to be treated a such. But within those boundaries you need to have a fully expressed character and play and no one is going to do it like you are. What makes you most unique is what you bring to an audition opportunity, and that’s what I build off of when you come in.
Prism got its name because I think it’s representative of what an actor needs to be. Galvanized with a strong outer core (this thing we love ain’t always easy) of professionalism and strength, and within that is seemingly endless colour, energy, and creativity dancing and bouncing off of one another inside.
So let’s make auditioning joyful, not rigid.
